Marilyn Lucretia Vissicchio was born on December 8, 1942 in Queens, New York City. Her mother, Constance Coleman was born in England and her father, Carmine Frederic Vissicchio was born in Italy in 1904. Marilyn, who was one of 5 children. She became deaf very early in her childhood. She went to school for the hearing impaired and graduated high school from St Joseph’s Academy in Brentwood, Long Island. She studied dance in her early education as it incorporated music that she could feel, and it allowed her a creative expression. She worked for Florida Power and Light for many years until retirement. She had 3 brothers that she survived, Fred, Walter, and Paul. She is survived by her younger brother Robert Vissicchio of NYC.
