Linda Sue McGee Davis of Gainesville, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease and congestive heart failure.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Davis will be at 3:30 on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 1:30 until 3:30. Justin Twiggs will officiate the service.
Family and close friends also knew her simply as “Mimi”. She was 76 years old. Left to cherish her memory is Daughter and son in law: Andrea Davis Cooper and Greg Cooper of Gainesville. Granddaughters: Jordan Cooper DiSanto (Derek) of Oakwood and Taylor Cooper of Gainesville. Brother and sister in law: Sam and Debbie McGee of Flowery Branch. Sister: Tenna McGee Anderson of Ellijay. Sister in law: Denise McGee of Oakwood. A number of cousins, nieces and nephews that lovingly called her Mimi. Lifelong friends include: Paula “Mickie” Emmett, Teri Morgan, and “The Lunch Bunch” retirees from the Hall County Health Department.
Preceded in death by parents, Bo and Grace McGee of Gainesville, and brother Mike McGee of Oakwood. Linda graduated from South Hall High School in 1966 and graduated from Georgia State University in 1968. She worked at Hall County Hospital after graduation and later accepted a position with the State of Georgia. She retired from her position as a Registered X-Ray Technologist with Hall County Health Department in 1999 after 25 years of service. She enjoyed decorative painting, sewing, embroidery, and any other form of creativity. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed watching her two granddaughters grow up.
