Elsie Virginia Walker

Elsie Virginia Walker, age 87, of Eastanollee, passed away peacefully at her home October 9, 2024. 

Born on February 8, 1937 in Oconee County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Hare Fletcher and Leroy Fletcher. After graduating from high school, Virginia embarked on a career in cosmetology, which she pursued for over a decade. Seeking another vocation that would accommodate her family life, she transitioned to Coats & Clark in Toccoa, Georgia, where she dedicated 20 years before retiring. In her retirement, she continued to pursue her love of travel with her husband and together they visited over 40 states and all 7 continents.  A lifetime member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Virginia found her greatest joy in her home and family. Alongside her husband and children, they raised cattle on the Walker farm, tended to their massive vegetable garden, and gathered honey from over two dozen hives. Her pride in providing fresh produce and honey for her family and neighbors was a testament to her selflessness.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Isaac Lee Walker and siblings, Jimmy Fletcher of Anderson, Texas; Donnie Fletcher of Eastanollee, Georgia; Helen Albritton of Ideal, Georgia, and Ellen Woodall of Toccoa, Georgia.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Marie Walker of Eastanollee, Patricia Jane Pratt (Ron) of Ocala, Florida, Walter Lee (Vicki) of Bonaire, Georgia, and Randy Isaac (Jane) of Coral Gables, Florida; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Virginia's life at Acree Davis Funeral Home in Toccoa, Georgia, on Friday, October 11, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, at 2 pm in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and Mr. Thomas Cistola officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Walter Walker, Randy Walker, Joshua Pratt, Ron Pratt, Thomas Cistola, Brandon Cistola and Colton Walker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Walker, Ronnie Pratt, Kristin Walker, Courtney Mason, Ciera Gillis and Kelly Toothman. 

Following the service, family and friends are invited to the X-Factor restaurant in Toccoa.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Hone and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Elsie Virginia Walker.
