Cynthia Camella Mazzeo Palacios (Cyndy), age 75, of Dahlonega GA. passed away on October 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving and devoted children.

Cyndy was born in Rockland, ME, on April 16, 1949, to the late Emilio D. and Emma J. Mazzeo.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband CSM Luis C. Cyndy was one of the original staff members that helped to open Long Branch Elementary in 1990. Cyndy was an important person to so many and positively impacted the lives of all that had the honor of knowing her. Former colleagues and former students alike would often stop Cyndy when they would see her out just to get a hug and a hello from “Mrs. Palacios”. Cyndy dedicated a combined total of over 30 years of her life to Education, all while supporting her husband, Luis, who served in the United States Army. She made a beautiful difference in the lives of so many people. Cyndy was a member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association and the Lumpkin County Retired Educators Association.
