Elizabeth Reynolds, a beloved homemaker and nurturing soul, passed away on October 7, 2024, in Athens, GA, just days shy of her 69th birthday. Born on October 18, 1955, in Duluth, GA, Elizabeth was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her kind-hearted spirit.
Elizabeth's nurturing nature was exemplified in the care and love she provided to her children and parents, instilling values of compassion and generosity in them. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Mayfield and Rebecca (Christopher) Bryant, and her son, Brian (Natasha) Cloer, who cherish the countless memories they shared with their devoted mother. Elizabeth also leaves behind a legacy through her nine beloved grandchildren, each impacted by her warmth and affection.
A true animal lover, Elizabeth had a remarkable talent as a horse whisperer, reflecting her gentle demeanor and strong bond with nature. Her passion for nurturing extended beyond her family, as she showed kindness to all those who crossed her path.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James W. and Coy Majors Atkinson, and her sister, Beverley Atkinson, as well as her ex-husband, James Reynolds, and niece, Jurhee Seagars. Their memories live on within her family, who continue to honor the values she imparted.
A visitation in celebration of Elizabeth's life will take place on October 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. The funeral service will follow on October 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM at New Hope Christian Church, situated at 1982 Old Norcross Rd., Lawrenceville, GA 30044 with Rev. James Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Community Cemetery, 2047-2063 Old Norcross Rd., Lawrenceville, GA.
