On October 7, 2024, Betty Freeman Pool of Gainesville joined her beloved husband Leland in eternity.
She was born December 8, 1931, in Braselton Georgia. She resided in the same home she made for over 62 of her 92 years in Gainesville and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Betty was predeceased by parents, Otis and Edrie Freeman; sister, Charlotte Morris; and son-in-law, Lawson Holland.
She is survived by sister, Linda Elrod (Sam); daughters: Janet Roper (Bruce), Cathy Holland, Nancy Pool; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren - all of whom were dearly loved.
The family would like to extend gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff she encountered during her five month stay at Lakes of Gainesville and for the many delightful visits with friends, neighbors, and family. Our deepest appreciation is for the peace and comfort provided by the team at Northeast Georgia Hospice.
The family will hold a private time of remembrance to honor her life and legacy. Always tenaciously direct and sharp of wit, she would want us to continue to laugh and know all is well.
