Rex B. Farmer

Mr. Rex B. Farmer, age 90, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Friday, October 11, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm Friday, October 11, 2024 at Dewberry Baptist Church No. 1 on Clarks Bridge Road, Gainesville, Georgia. Rev. Henry Loggins will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Rex served as a City of Gainesville Fireman and Diver, he pulled many bodies from the lake and gave families closure. He served on The Dairyman Inc. Board on the National Level; RDC Board appointed by Governor Roy Barnes; ASCS of Hall County; Board of Directors of Hall County Parks and Recreation; Clermont Lions Club; Served in military during the Korean War and served as an MP. He and Rachel hosted many fish fry’s at their home for the neighbors and community.

Rex is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel; parents Pete and Rosemary Farmer; adopted parents, Fred and Juanita Fields; brothers, Terrell Farmer and Micky Farmer; grandson, Ryan Wagner.

He is survived by his sons, Eric (Gaye) and Jody (Ashley), grandchildren,

Brett, Paige (Chris) Little, Dusty (Amelia), Garritt Gilley, great granddaughter, Rosalynn Farmer; Sister, MaryAnn Farmer and his beloved dog, Reba.
