David Harris Perron

Mr. David Harris Perron, 71, of Gainesville passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 in Alta Vista Cemetery. Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate.

Born on November 20, 1952 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Oscar Alexander “Duke” Perron, Sr. and the late Marilyn Harris Perron. David was a graduate of Gainesville High School Class of 1971, The University of Georgia and Georgia State University. Known as Coach Perron, he taught high school in Gwinnett and Hall County. In his words, "he taught science on good days and character everyday."

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna Crossman Perron of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Lisa-Marie and Wes Godfrey of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughter and son in law, Pana and Jayce Ninan of Johns Creek, GA; son and daughter in law, Cole Alexander and Anna Perron of Jefferson, GA; brother and sister in law, Oscar Alexander “Pepe” and Ann Perron Jr. of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Anna Godfrey, Harris Godfrey, Harper Ninan, Carter Ninan, Ava Perron, and Adalyn Perron.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia.
