Jimmie “J.C.” Adams

Mr. Jimmie “J.C.” Adams, age 79, of Dahlonega, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Born in Biloxi, MS, on October 17, 1944, J.C. was the son of the late James Benson and Claudia Adams. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Marie Adams; his sister, Carol Ann Crossley; and his son-in-law, E.G. Lorens.

One of the happiest days of J.C.’s life was October 20, 1967, when he married his cherished “Ree.” His pride and joy grew even greater when he became “Daddy” to his two daughters, whom he raised with unwavering love, hard work, and a touch of stubbornness, guiding them to become strong, independent women. A master craftsman, J.C. transformed wood into stunning works of art, reflecting his skill and creativity.

In addition to his craftsmanship, J.C. dedicated countless hours to his community as an umpire and referee, famously calling the third strike with an enthusiastic “boom!” These fond memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

J.C.’s love for his family was unmatched. He cherished his role as “Poppy” to his granddaughter, Ellie Marie, who brought him immense joy and pride.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristine Marie Lorens of Dahlonega and Cynde Michele Adams of Cumming; granddaughter Ellie Marie; and brother-in-law Ron Crossley.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Tally officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
