Vincent Scott Conner

Obituary Date: Monday, September 30, 2024

Surrounded by his loving family at his home on September 30, 2024, Vincent Scott Conner, age 65, went to spend eternity with his Lord. Scott was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born on September 2, 1959, Scott grew up on Conner Road in Flowery Branch with a passion for the outdoors, sports, and serving others. He was a graduate of Johnson High School and held several different positions including Wrigley’s, Curtis 1000, Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, and Home Depot. Many people remember him for his friendly smile and encouraging words.

Scott was a man of integrity and kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His laughter and warmth filled every room he entered, and his sense of humor was infectious. He was known for his love of fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his brother Mike Conner, sister-in-law Karan Wilson, and father and mother-in-law Mahlon and Jenny Smith.

He is survived by his high-school sweetheart and beloved wife of 44 years, Kim Conner; his sons and their wives Drew and Mandy Conner and Vince and Erin Conner; his grandchildren, Avery, Archer, Olivia and Owen Conner; parents Owen and Mary Lou Conner; brothers Tony Conner and Blake and his wife Nicole Conner; brother-in-law Scott Wilson; nieces and nephews Nicolas Conner, Neal Conner, Nathan and Sam Wilson, and Justin and Kaylyn Page, as well as many special aunts, uncles, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. He leaves behind many extended family members and lifelong friends who will cherish his memory.

Scott was a member and deacon of Zion Hill Baptist Church, where he served faithfully in various roles over the years, reflecting his deep commitment to his faith and community. He loved his church family and many members have expressed how he would always have an uplifting word for them every Sunday. He loved serving the Lord at Zion Hill through the children’s ministry, Vacation Bible School, mission projects, cooking in the kitchen, and singing in the choir.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2030 Memorial Park Rd, Gainesville, Georgia. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 6:30 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Flowery Branch.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church in Scott’s honor.

Scott’s legacy of love, generosity, and humor will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his love for his family and Jesus but also for the kindness and compassion he showed to all.
