Lisa Farmer, 57, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on September 26, 2024, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a brave battle with cancer.
Born in Florence, Alabama, Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Larry “Andy” Andrews and Betty June Currier. She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Ron Farmer; her daughter, Destiny Fortner, of Cleveland, Georgia (husband Tyler and their three-month-old daughter, Caroline); her loving son, Michael Farmer; her brother, Brad Andrews; and her sister, Heather Oberfoell, both of Oregon. Lisa also leaves behind cherished aunts Jean Andrews and Kim Hensley of Titusville, Florida, and Cathie Jones of Florence, Alabama, as well as dear cousins Kate Berwind (Danny and son Ethan) and John Jones (Amber and daughter Aubrey).
Lisa earned her MBA and dedicated her career to healthcare, working at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and previously at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. A passionate dog lover, she served as an AKC dog show judge and was the Judges Education Chairman for the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America.
An outdoor enthusiast, Lisa loved boating and hiking with her husband and great friends Bob and Liz Rinderle. She was an avid fan of Alabama football and adored her dogs.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to support cancer research or your favorite pet rescue.
