Lawrence R. Fitz

Mr. Lawrence R. Fitz, age 84 of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 30, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church with inurnment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Father Tim Hepburn will officiate.

Mr. Fitz was born November 10, 1939 to the late John & Agnes Billick Fitz in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He retired from operations management with IBM and attended St. Michael Catholic Church.

In his spare time, he loved to garden and was an avid bridge player.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to meet new people and get to know them.  When they were growing up, he was very involved with his children. He also gave back to the community be being involved with his church, being a Cub Scout leader and a little league coach.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Fitz of Gainesville, GA; son, Larry (Beth) Fitz of Hiram, GA; daughter, Amy (Kevin) Seaman of Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Jeffrey Fitz, Ken Seaman, & Rachel (Ian) Baerwalde; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dick Fitz, Fred Fitz, & Francis Fitz.
