We regret to announce the passing of Jeffrey (Jeff) Allen Collins also known as “Skippy” aged 63, who passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024.
Jeff was born November 18, 1960 to the late Levin James and Martha Jane Dyer Collins, Gainesville, Georgia. He has spent his whole life in Oakwood, Georgia. He attended and graduated from Johnson High School. Once graduated, he attended trade school and became a salesman in the poultry industry. He was a well-respected member of his profession and known for his professional qualities. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others and loved throughout the community.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jeff was a devoted Christian. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church most of his life but recently joined Hopewell Baptist Church. Over the years, he served as a deacon and volunteered for various positions in the church. His favorite part was working with children in AWANA and VBS.
But more than anything, Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always there to offer guidance, support, encouragement and love to them.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife Suzanne (Susie) Collins, his children Nicole Orr and Nicholas (Nick) Collins, son-in-law Shane Orr; daughter-in-law Savannah Collins; grandchildren Knox and Nora Orr and Carter Collins; as well as his siblings and their spouses, family and friends.
Viewing will be from 4:00 – 7:00 Saturday, September 28, 2024 and the service will be 2:00 on Sunday, September 29, 2024. All services will be held at Little & Davenport.
Jeff will be dearly missed by all who know him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends and colleagues.
After the service, Jeff’s wishes are to be cremated.
