Larry "Joe" Reynolds, age 67, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on September 23, 2024. He was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee on February 4, 1957, to the late Albert Reynolds and Ruth Casteel Foster. Joe was preceded in death by his father, his sisters Peggy Pullen and Cathy Reynolds, and his granddaughter Hali DiSanto. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bessie Barnes Reynolds of Dahlonega; daughters Carrie Gable of Dahlonega and Terrie DiSanto Wood (Bill) of Jasper; siblings Albert "Butch" Reynolds (Beth), Alfred Reynolds (Linda), Clarence Reynolds (Gina), and Raymond "Tommy" Reynolds; grandchildren Curtis Brown, Johnathan Brown, Derek DiSanto (Jordan), and Carter DiSanto.
Joe proudly served in the United States Army for 13 years, where he dedicated himself with immense pride. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as a shipping supervisor at the Fieldale plant in Murrayville. Joe was known for his unwavering loyalty to the Crimson Tide and had a heart of gold, always willing to help others. He had a tough exterior but was fair-minded and possessed a sense of humor that brightened every room he entered.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Joey Rudasill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Local American Legion in memory of Joe.
Joe Reynolds will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his strength, kindness, and infectious humor that touched many lives throughout his journey.
