John Arlon Maddox

John Arlon Maddox, age 79, of Buford, GA passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Willene Maddox; sister, Juanita Maddox. Mr. Maddox is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Linda Maddox of Buford; children, Gail Pittman of Honea Path, SC. John Arlon (Genelle) Maddox II of Winder, GA, Clifford Maddox of Sautee Nacoochee, GA; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Donna) Maddox of Loudon, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was born on September 5, 1945 in Buford and graduated from North Gwinnett High School in 1963. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a 2001 graduate of Gwinnett Technical College with an Associate Degree. Mr. Maddox was a retired General Manager of Operations of Reynolds and Reynolds Company. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed both playing pool and bowling. Mr. Maddox also refereed and umpired all sports.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Coates officiating. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens located in Buford GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
