Vernon Wayne Wofford

Vernon Wayne Wofford, 75 of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully September 1, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Wayne was born April 27, 1949 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace Vernon Wofford of Gainesville, GA.

He is a graduate of Southall High School class of 1968.

After graduation, he pursued a career in the United States Air Force, which set the stage for his life in law enforcement and travels throughout the world.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Jaime Wofford Rose of West Wills Point, Texas; brother Anderson Wofford of Danielsville, Georgia; sister Gaye Maldonado of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren Nicholas, Jonathan, Ava, Aurora, Ariel, Rya, Mia, and Robert; nieces and nephews Tony Wofford and Brian Wofford of Gainesville, Georgia and Chad Lairsey, Brittany Grant, Cohen Lairsey, and Bailee Hovestadt of Jacksonville, Florida as well as many many great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Amanda Dawn Wofford and nephew Richard Wofford.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on September 28th, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church 3104 Poplar Springs Church Rd., Gainesville, GA 30507.
