Sheila Hamby Garmon

Sheila Hamby Garmon, age 66, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

She was born February 18, 1958, in Murphy, NC. She grew up in the Hiawassee Dam Community of North Carolina and Sheila was a graduate of Hiawassee Dam High School, class of 1976. She was married to her husband Dennis Garmon on October 22, 1977. She was a loving mother, a homemaker and had different jobs over the years. She enjoyed playing the piano for churches, southern gospel music, sewing, doing puzzles, and playing games with her family and friends. Sheila is preceded in death by her parents Thurman and Mozell Hamby, brothers Darell and Edwin Hamby, and husband of 42 years Dennis Garmon. She is survived by her children Sarah and Josh Herrington of Buford Ga, Justin and Brooke Garmon of Flowery Branch Ga, and Adam and Amy Garmon of Lawrenceville Ga and her 6 grandchildren Zoey, Ava and Jack Herington and Madison, Avery and Willow Garmon; sister, Glenda Hamby; brothers, Ray Hamby and Randall (Wanda) Hamby of Hiwassee Dam, N.C.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA, with Rev. Josh Herrington officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 23, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. until time f the service at 2:00 p.m.
