Reba Crawford Wood

Mrs. Reba Crawford Wood, 89, of Commerce, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at her home while surrounded by her loving family. 
Reba was born on January 13, 1935 in Commerce to the late, Jim and Bessie Crawford. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Chick Wood, with whom she shared a life filled with love, faith, and unwavering commitment. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Reba was a woman of faith, grace, and compassion. She dedicated her life to serving God, to serving her family, and to serving others.  She was a life-long member of Madison Street Baptist Church. She worked at Blue Bell Sewing Plant in Commerce for 21 years before going to work at the University of Georgia from which she eventually retired. Despite working full-time, she was a loving homemaker who dedicated herself tirelessly to nurturing her family and ensuring that her home was a place of warmth, care, and love. Though her physical body was weakened following a stroke in 2007, her spirit remained strong, and her faith in God and devotion to her family never wavered.   
She leaves behind a family who adored her and who will forever hold her memory close; son, Terry (Donna) Wood of Commerce; grandchildren, Chrystal (Blake) Carlan, Bobby (Amy) Canup, and Benji (Sherri) Canup; great-grandchildren, Avery Carlan, Brentley Carlan, Christian Canup, Nicholas Canup, Elizabeth Spradlin, and J.J. McDaniel; two great-great grandchildren, her loving sister, Mary Bruce; and many nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 at 2PM from the Chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Owensby officiating.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 5PM to 7PM.
