Sonny Simmons

Sonny Simmons, age 78 of Dawsonville, GA, passed away peacefully at home with his daughters by his side on September 19, 2024. 

A memorial visitation will be held at Bearden Funeral Home on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  A private burial service will be held at a later date.

Sonny retired from Etowah Water Authority after many years of dedicated service and was a long time member of Etowah Lodge #222.  Sonny is survived by his daughter Sabrina Lane and her husband Doug, daughter JoAnn Watson and her husband Eric, grandson Andrew Watson and his wife Olivia, grandson Joshua Lane, granddaughter Chloe Watson and granddaughter Olivia Watson.  He is also survived by his brother Cecil "Skeeter" Simmons, brother in law Donald Reeves and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Sonny was an amazing father, devoted grandfather and friend to many.  We, his family, always knew Dad was proud of us and loved us as he told us often. We will miss his phone calls, his invitations to Longstreet Cafe, Saturday trips to Home Depot, Sunday afternoon lunches and the many, many laughs we shared every time we were together. We love you Dad and will miss you every day of our lives!
