A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 23rd at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where Jeanne attended, with inurnment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Father Pete Coppola will officiate. The family will receive friends and family at the church following the inurnment.
Jeanne was born July 12, 1946 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She spent the first 51 years of her life residing in Northern New Jersey. In 1997, Jeanne and John moved to the Atlanta Metro area to be closer to their children. Jeanne retired from her career as a college bookstore manager for the Follett Corporation in 2010.
Shortly after retirement, Jeanne and John moved to the Village at Deaton Creek where Jeanne was an active member of the community. She served as Co-President of the Pickleball Association and enjoyed playing cards, water volleyball, croquet and Mahjong as well as many other activities in the community.
Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her children and nine grandchildren. They made many wonderful memories together during annual Thanksgiving trips to Destin and family cruises. Their grandkids have especially fond memories of “Grandma and Grandpa’s Day of Fun” which Jeanne planned every year around Christmas.
Jeanne also enjoyed traveling with her husband, friends, kids and grandkids. She always had a trip to Europe or a Caribbean cruise on the calendar.
Jeanne is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Galasso, Jr. of Hoschton; children, Jill (Ryan) Strange of Lawrenceville, John (Erica) Galasso, III of Buford and Ryan (Kristin) Galasso of Flowery Branch; and grandchildren, Madison (William) Palmer, Elizabeth Galasso, Sidney Strange, Rebecca Galasso, John Galasso, IV, Tyler Galasso, William Strange, Katherine Galasso and Jason Galasso.
