Reverend Douglas Thomas Jackson was born August 31, 1952, in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Reverend Willie Thomas Jackson and Bobbie Catherine Little. Reverend Jackson actively served in the Madison Missionary Baptist Association, INC as BTU President for several years. He also served as an officer in the Interdenominational Black Ministers Association in Gainesville, GA until his health deteriorated. He served as Pastor of the Hillsboro Baptist Church for twenty-eight years until death, and as Pastor of the Fairfield Baptist Church for 26 years. Reverend Jackson was an educator with the Hall County School System for 30 years, and a Substance Abuse Counselor at Lakewind’s Recovery Center in Gainesville for 10 years. Pastor Jackson was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Tiffany Sutton Jackson for 29 ½ years. He and his wife served together in marriage, ministry, and life. He is father of three children Steven Jackson of Cleveland, Georgia, Sterling Jackson (Tiffani) of Bethlehem, Georgia, and Aisha Jackson of Gainesville, Georgia. He was proud grandfather of five beautiful souls, Zoey Jackson, Christian Jackson, Journee Benedict, Jada Jackson, and Kingston Jackson. Reverend Jackson loved to grill, sing, workout, run, and vacation. He loved history, specifically black history. Reverend Jackson is preceded in death by his father the late Reverend Willie Thomas Jackson, his mother Mrs. Bobbie Catherine Little, his sisters Francis Gaudlock (Raymond,) Peggy Jackson, Willie Ree Jackson, and Corine Lott (Mike). He is survived by his brother Jerry Lee Jackson, and sisters Linda Akonchong, and Brenda Jackson Carter (Darrell), all of Gainesville, Georgia. Reverend Jackson loved the Lord with all his heart, and diligently served until death. As we mourn the loss of a great man, we also celebrate a life well lived filled with acts of kindness, wisdom, faith, servitude, and love.
 
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Hillsboro Baptist Church, High Shoals, GA. Viewing will begin two hours prior to the service at 10:00 AM at Hillsboro Baptist Church. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
