Tommy Eugene Baker

Mr. Tommy Eugene Baker, age 78 of Oakwood, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Scott Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. 

Mr. Baker was born August 30, 1946 to the late John Rudolph & Ruby Lou Wiley Baker in Gainesville, Georgia. A veteran of the United States Army, he went on to retire as a carpenter with the Carpenters Union of Atlanta, local 225. He was a lifetime resident of Georgia and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Baker; son, Brian Baker; daughter, Beth Ann Karic; brother, Jimmy Baker; and 4 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Elaine Carter Baker (dec. 2007).
