Norman “Sonny” Botelho

Norman “Sonny” Botelho, age 84, of Jefferson, Georgia, passed away on Saturday September 14, 2024, surrounded by family.  He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and raised in Jefferson, where he later returned and spent most of his adult life.

Norm served in the Air Force and the CIA before beginning a long career in the restaurant business.  He was also an auctioneer, avid golfer, very competitive card player, talented musician and painter, and an infamous storyteller, but most of all family always came first in his life. 

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sherry Miller Botelho of Jefferson, GA, his children, Donna Michele Botelho Kleppe (Tim) of Cokato, MN, Diane Marie Botelho Hess (Wayne) of Staples, MN, John Earl Botelho (Tess) of Commerce, GA, Michael David Botelho of Commerce, GA, and Mary Dawn Botelho Kelly (Kevin) of Jefferson, GA; thirteen grandchildren, Nick Hemingsen, Justin Hemingsen (Ashley), Torie Fugleberg (Caleb), T J Kleppe, Sam Hess (Bree), Lee Hess, Willow Botelho, Gwen Botelho, Eris Botelho, April Botelho, Mattie Botelho, Levi Joseph Botelho Kelly (Karlie) and Leah Kelly; six great grandchildren, Duncan, Blake, Gwynn, Oliver, Eli, James and one on the way; two sisters, Norma Dalton of Maine and Noreen Botelho of Maine; nephew, Rick Taylor, and nieces, Sandie Botelho and Chrisabell Botelho. 

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, the late John and Mary Silva Botelho.

In honoring with Mr. Botelho’s wishes, no services will be held.
