Edward Nelms

Edward Nelms, age 81, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Mr. Nelms was born on April 13, 1943, in Hiawassee, Georgia, to the late Floyd and Ethel Rogers Nelms.  He was a dump truck driver for the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Deborhy Nelms; sons, James Nelms and David Nelms; grandchildren, Matthew and Storm Nelms, Halie Nelms, Patrick Nelms, and James Dean Nelms; great-grandchildren, Kabie, John Wayne, Zane, Zoe, Carter, Kennedy, and Oakland; sister, Iva Lee Lovell; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Tim Kinsey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Spencer Anderson will officiate.  Interment will follow in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
