Charles E. (Chuck) Black, 75, passed away on Friday September 13, 2024. Chuck was born in Dearborn, Michigan on November 29, 1948, to Dewie and Helen Black.
On May 1, 1970, Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Lynn Edwards, and, they have been married for 54 years
Chuck joined the US Navy in 1968 and served on the USS Lexington refueling planes on the flight deck and later served in the Naval Reserve. After his time in the service, he began his career at General Motors in Quality Control and retired from General Motors in 2001.
Chuck always had a mischievous smile on his face and never met a stranger. It gave him great pleasure to tease and make others laugh. Chuck loved to spend time with his family and was a classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed showing his 1963 Black Ford Falcon at car shows and won many awards and trophies through the years. His passion for the Ford Falcon began when he bought his first car, a 1962 Falcon.
Chuck had a strong faith in his Savior Jesus Christ and always turned to God with thankfulness for what he had. Although there is a hole in our hearts, we delight in knowing we have eternal life through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that we will see him again.
Chuck is survived by his wife Lynn and his beloved pup Bruno, brother Ken (wife Kathy) Black, sister Pat Black and brother-in-law Dave Edwards.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Dewie and Helen Black, brother Alvin Black and mother and father-in-law, Bruce and Evelyn Edwards.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens, 3481 Hamilton Mill Road, Buford, GA 30519. A family burial service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton Georgia.
