Paul Lawrence Carlisle

Paul Lawrence Carlisle passed away on September 7, 2024 in Gainesville, GA at the age of 45 following a tragic accident.

As a husband, father, son, brother, and nephew, Paul is survived by his loving partner Kasey Carlisle and their daughter Calli Carlisle, as well as his daughter Charlize Carlisle and her mother Veronica Carlisle, and by his mother Julie Carlisle, all of Gainesville, GA. He is also survived by his sister Lacie Carlisle of Davis, CA, his uncles Tom Southern of Thomasville, GA and David Southern of St. Augustine, FL. George Lawrence Carlisle, his beloved father and whose memory he cherished, preceded him in death.

Paul was born March 20, 1979 in Gainesville, GA. and is best known for his adventurous spirit, fun loving nature and kind heart. To know Paul was to love Paul. His bright smile, twinkle in his eye and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.  Above all else, he was a dedicated father to his two daughters whom he adored.  Paul was an avid outdoorsman and found his sanctuary kayaking the Chattooga River every chance he got. He enjoyed finding new rivers to kayak wherever his travels took him, with a goal to kayak as many rivers as possible.  Paul was a very creative thinker and possessed a multitude of skills.  He was a talented woodworker, and furniture maker. He worked for years as a trim contractor in the residential construction business, as well as a climber and arborist in tree service.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at the Shields-Ethridge Heritage Farm on September 28 at 3:00 where family & friends will gather to honor his life and share stories of his many adventures and the joy that he brought into their lives. Paul’s spirit will live on in the lives of those who knew him where he will be forever loved and remembered.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in his name to the Chattooga Conservatory, chattoogariver.org/donate/ a cause that reflected Paul’s deep commitment to conserving the natural world that he so loved.
