Mrs. Ruth Witt Clyde was born February 28, 1945, in Hoschton, Ga to the late Lester Brooks and the late Elizabeth Witt. She entered eternal rest on September 6, 2024. Ruth graduated from Bryant High School in Jefferson, Ga.
She worked at Leeceaville for 20 years where she retired. Ruth also went on to work at Avery Dennison for 20 years where she also retired. She also worked at Baldor Electric for 5 years. Later Ruth went on to work for Gainesville City School System. Ruth loved serving and helping others. She continued in her community working for Doctors, Lawyers, and other community Entrepreneurs.
Ruth was a faithful member of New Salem Baptist Church. Where she was a devoted member of the ETS Mass choir for over 40 years. While serving at New Salem she dedicated her time in the kitchen serving her church and other churches while follow shipping within the community. Ruth would often express her love with a GREAT BIG SMILE and a delicious meal. The love Ruth had for her family, friends, and community was definitely of a servant’s heart.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents. Her loving husband Haywood Cylde. One brother Willie Witt. Two sisters-in-laws Willie Sue Eborn, and Priscilla Henry Rucker. Special friend Hazel Buffington.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memory to her children Wonda (Olaffia) Hester, Fidel (Jacqueline) Hopkins, Suewannia Hopkins; Grandchildren Olethia (Jeremy) Lotts, Jasmine Slaughter, Joshten Hopkins, Victoria Owens, JaQwannia Brown, Treasure Wright, Jacquen Hopkins, Zikaya Wright, Devon Hopkins; 14 great grandkids; Twin sister Ruby Smith, Sister in Laws Peggy Moore, Lenora Witt; and a host of nieces and nephews. Three special friends Joanne Shields, and Betty Jo Morrison, and Mary Doris Thomas.
The visitation will be held Friday, September 13th between the hours of 12-8pm at Wimberly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6-8pm at Wimberly Funeral Home. Mrs. Clyde's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 14th at the hour of 1pm at New Salem Baptist Church. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
