Annelle Fowler Stripland

Obituary Date: Wednesday, September 11, 2024

Annelle Fowler Stripland, a cherished resident of Sugar Hill, Georgia, and beloved member of the community, passed away on September 11, 2024. Born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Annelle lived a life full of love, joy, and devotion. She was the beloved wife of Johnny Stripland, whom she married on February 21, 1969.

Annelle was a proud graduate of Sugar Hill High School, class of 1956. She had a dedicated career, working with Frito Lay, Loveable, and Makita. However, her most heartfelt role was serving the students in the cafeteria at Sugar Hill Elementary School, where she touched many lives with her kindness and warm smile.

Annelle was a long-time member of West Buford Baptist Church, where she regularly attended services until her health began to decline. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great comfort and joy in her church community.

Preceded in death by her parents Louie and Bessie Fowler, and her siblings Alan Fowler, Robert (Bobby) Fowler, and Dorothy Fowler, and her nephew Wade Fowler.  Annelle is survived by her brother Fred Fowler, and her nieces Susan Whitt (and husband Rusty Whitt), Sandy Hurt, and Vickie Cooper (and husband Rodney Cooper). She is also remembered with love by nieces, nephews and cousins on Johnny’s side of the family, her great-nieces and nephews and many other dear friends and family members.

Annelle had a passion for quilting, gardening, and camping. Her generosity, infectious laughter, and love for her family were hallmarks of her vibrant personality. She had a unique ability to make others smile and always found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

In honor of her memory, the family requests that memorial donations be made to her home church, West Buford Baptist Church, to support the place that was so meaningful to her.

Annelle will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire and warm the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
