Herbie Floyd "Deuce" Mize II, age 41, of Gainesville, GA passed away Monday, September 2nd at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Doris Mize. His paternal grandfather, Raymond Roper. His father Herbie Mize, Sr. His bonus father, Timothy Snapp. His father-in-law Kim Roll, and many other loved ones.
Deuce was born June 30, 1983, a son of the late Herbie Mize Sr. and Valencia Lytle Snapp. He lived in Gainesville, GA all of his life. In his younger years, he attended Gainesville City schools with a love for football, whether playing on the field or sitting in front of the television watching his uncle, NFL Hall of Famer, Patrick Johnson play for the Ravens.
He later transferred to West Hall High. He ended up getting his GED. He learned many useful life skills, one of which included his passion for heating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC). He became a certified HVAC technician through on the job training. His skills helped take him to surrounding cities and states, maintaining and installing HVAC systems in commercial buildings.
He was a man who even as a young man, was always after God's heart. He loved the Lord until the day he went to be with the Lord. He was always praying and trying to seek God's presence. He loved his family and spending time with them, vacationing at South Carolina or Florida beaches, going to the mountains in Tennessee for hikes, even family gatherings where he would rap some of his favorite artist songs, even singing Deniece Williams song "Silly" on karaoke nights. Deuce enjoyed life, laughing and showing his enormous heart of love.
To cherish his memories, he leaves the Love of his life, his wife, Marie Roll Mize of 15 years. His maternal grandmother, Patricia Cunningham (Gainesville GA). His Mother Valencia Lytle Snapp (Jefferson, GA). Bonus Mother Michelle Mize (Gainesville, GA). Mother-in-law Pam White Roll (Commerce, GA) His children, son Elijah Mize, daughter Faith Mize, and Bonus son Jaion Young. His siblings, Devin (Stephanie) Snapp (Braselton, GA), Hervon (Jordan) Mize and Gelisa (Warren) Faulkner (Gainesville, GA). Sisters and brother-in-law, Sandy Gordon (Lagrange, GA), Aleigha Roll (Commerce, GA) and Christopher Roll (Gainesville, GA). His nephews and nieces, Destiny Shay and Tristan Snapp, Jayceon and Jayda Faulkner, Radre, Aaliyah, Miyah and Safiyah Mize. A great nephew Isiah Roll.
Three special cousins/siblings: Shameka Mize Bledson, Herschel Mize, and Crystal Mize Butler. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, other family and friends from all over whom he loved
So, amid our sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that we made wonderful memories with him, and he is no longer suffering. -The Mize Family
