Ruby Lynn Mauldin Minish

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Ruby Lynn Mauldin Minish, age 93, of Jefferson, who passed away on Saturday, September 7 , 2024. Mrs. Minish was born in Jefferson, Georgia on June 1, 1931 to Lemuel Gilmer and Nell Fulcher Mauldin.

She was educated at the Martin Institute until she was twelve years old; at that time her family moved to Commerce where she attended and graduated from Commerce High School after which she attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega for two years. She then graduated from the University of Georgia. Returning to Commerce, she married the love of her life, Ellis Henry Minish. They lived in town for several years then bought a farm on Hoods Mill Road where a son, Lemuel Ellis Minish, joined them.

For forty years Ruby Lynn taught in the Banks County and Commerce City School Systems. After her retirement, she moved back to the Jefferson area where she was a member of the Jefferson Women’s Club and the Jefferson Garden Club. Mrs. Minish was inducted into the Commerce City School System Hall of Fame. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Cabin Creek Baptist Church in Nicholson..

Mrs. Minish is survived by her son Lem Minish and his wife, Eileen Minish; two grandchildren, David Christopher Minish and Lisa Marie Minish; grandchildren, Alicia, Miguel, Zach and Roxie; She is also survived by seven adopted grandchildren; Conley, Ericka, Julia, Noah, Kylie,  Zoey and Laurel and many great grandchildren also survive.

Two of her joys were staying in touch with her former students and attending china painting classes. She particularly enjoyed painting pieces of china then sharing those treasures with friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Hautsman officiating. The burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial Park with David Minish, Lisa Minish, Conley Minish, Wyatt Wilson, Miguel Guereca, Jonathon Whitlock and Don Hill honored as pallbearers .

The visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 5:00 PM. Until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.
