Heather Lynn Backer

Ms. Heather Lynn Backer, age 47, of Maysville, GA died Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Ms. Backer was born in Decatur, GA to Linda Kipling Backer of Maysville and the late, Richard Backer. She attended Chestnut Mountain Church and was a teacher and coach in the Jackson County School System.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Backer is survived by her children, Brooklyn Bruce, Braelyn Bruce and Bryce Bruce all of Maysville; brothers, Kevin Backer (Lynn) of Commerce and Richie Backer (April) of Winterville.

Funeral services will be at 4 PM, Sunday, September 8 at Chestnut Mountain Church with Rev. Brent Gilstrap and Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Jackson County School System, c/o Coach Backer Memorial Scholarship, 1660 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549.
