Betty Ann Collins

Mrs. Betty Ann Collins, 84, of Gainesville passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Born on April 26, 1940 in Dahlonega, she was the daughter of the late Miles Wrestel and Annie Sue Byers Shope. She was retired from Whitehead Dye Casting. Mrs. Collins was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert F. Collins; sisters, Irene Anderson, Robbie Wilson and brothers, Leon Shope, Hoyt Shope, J.D. Shope, Johnny Shope and Willie Shope.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her daughters, Kathy Collins, Rhonda Collins Moser both of Gainesville; sister, Bernice Payne of Dahlonega; sister and brother in law, Martha and David Dougherty of Gainesville; brother and sister in law, Jim and Carol Shope of Gainesville; brothers, Henry Shope of Lula, Clarence Shope of Nicholson; a special loved one, Randall Williams and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
