Barbara Jo Money, affectionately called Babs, was born on May 23, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2024, in Lawrenceville, GA.
Born on May 23, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Barbara graduated from Towers High School and earned an Associate’s Degree from Georgia Perimeter College. She had a rewarding career as a paraprofessional for special needs children, where she was renowned for her dedication and compassion.
Growing up, Barbara was known for her boundless energy and kindness. After graduating from Towers High School, she pursued an associate’s degree at Georgia Perimeter College. Her career as a paraprofessional for special needs children was marked by an unwavering dedication and a compassionate heart, making a lasting impact on those she helped.
Barbara's life was profoundly enriched by her family. She married her soulmate, Randy Money, in 1984 and together they raised two wonderful daughters, Kristen (Grayson) Carroll and Caroline (Zachary Judd) Money. Barbara cherished her role as daughter-in-law to Darlene Money and she found immense joy in her role as grandmother to Adalyn, Emily, and Asher Carroll. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John (Jack) and Mildred Evans, her brother Mike Evans, and her father-in-law Atkeson (Harold) Money.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her passion extended beyond her family to her community, where she was an advocate for anyone who needed help and served as a youth mentor, board member and volunteer throughout the years. Her life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
A memorial service to honor Barbara will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Buford First United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DFCS Secret Santa, Attn: Santrissa Johnson, Division of Family and Children Services, 47 Trinity Ave S.W., 1st Floor, Atlanta, GA 30303. Barbara's legacy of compassion and service will continue through this meaningful cause.
