Grover Cleveland Dover

Mr. Grover Cleveland Dover, 90 of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Dr. Tom Smiley, Dr. Tyler Smiley and Rev. Don Ormsbee will officiate.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on July 26, 1934 in Blairsville, he was the son of the late Joe and Estelle Latimer Dover. Mr. Dover was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He retired after many years of employment from the Trucking industry, where he drove for Overnight Trucking. Mr. Dover was a longtime member of Lakewood Baptist Church and a member of the Camping Club. He loved playing the guitar, violin and fiddle. He loved Bluegrass music, Country music and Christian music.

Mr. Dover is survived by his wife, Glenda Dover of Gainesville; step daughter, Kristi Frankum of Cornelia; step son, Todd Frankum of Talmo; daughter and son in law, Wendy and Larry Burke of Alma; sons and daughter in law, Gary and Dorothy Dover of Murrayville, David Dover of Gainesville; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Otis Dover of Gainesville; nephew, Ben Clark of Gainesville and a number of other loving relatives.
