Jimmie Harben, 87, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born January 20, 1937, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Jimmie worked as a cattle and poultry farmer and also worked as a residential carpenter. He was employed several years by the Soil and Water Conservations Service. He loved being outdoors and driving his antique Ford pickup. Preceding him in death are his father, Andrew Harben; mother and stepfather, Audie and Fred Reagen; sisters and brother in law, Laura Me and Winford Burt; and Mahala Vaughters.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Bessie Harben, Dawsonville; brother in law, Clayton Vaughters, Dawsonville; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 2 o’clock at Juno Baptist Church. Rev. Brody Hughes, Rev. Tommy Weldy, and Rev. Tim Biddy will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
