Martha Elaine Welch

Martha Elaine Welch of Mountain City, Georgia passed away on August 30, 2024 with her loving husband and family by her side.

Martha was born April 14, 1948 to the late Earl Alexander Arrendale and late Carrie Arzelia Owensby Arrendale. She spent her working days as a tax assessor for the City of Sky Valley.

Martha was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time outdoors. She loved hummingbirds, her flowers, fishing and shooting skeet. Martha also liked to cook. On Sundays, you could find her singing her praise in church.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her siblings, Phillip Arrendale, Jerry Arrendale, Lucille Franklin, and Evelyn Shirley.

Martha is survived by her husband, Bruce Welch; children, Mark Jones, Kendra Jones, and Michelle Watson (Tim); sister, Susan Earlene Welborn; and grandchildren, Farress King (James), Hannah Allen (Landon), Riley Jones, and Laney Jones.

Visitation will be held 6:00pm-8:00pm Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Beck Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday September 1, 2024 in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Mountain City.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund. Donations can be mailed to PO BOX 485, Rabun Gap, Georgia 30568.
