Richard John Sherrell

Mr. Richard John Sherrell, age 81, of Flowery Branch passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton, surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Hamilton Mill Christian Church, 3809 Sardis Church Road, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Sherrell was born October 2, 1942 to the late Jack & Florence Sherrell in Brantford, Ontario.  He was retired from Otis Elevator and a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local #32. Mr. Sherrell was a member of Hamilton Mill Christian Church.

Mr. Sherrell is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sonja Sherrell; daughters, Deborah Sherrell and Patti Ann Sherrell; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; stepson, Jeffrey (Margaret) Swanner; stepdaughter, Marla (Ivey) Laminack; and sister, Gloria Ridler.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard John Sherrell, Jr. and daughter, Christine Pellerin.
