Richard Duane Oldham

Richard Duane Oldham 68 of Cleveland, Georgia went to his heavenly home on August 25, 2024. He was the son of the late Leon Richard Oldham (USAF) and Joyce Houston Oldham Holmes. Born into a military family on February 7, 1956 in Ontario, Canada, later residing in Cape Cod, MA; Albuquerque, NM; Japan; and Riverside, CA. Richard graduated Falmouth high school in 1974 and then attended Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia during that time he further pursued a passion that began during his high school days. His love for on stage drama. During the summer of 1975 he was honorably chosen to tour Virginia in a four student drama group that would present the gospel statewide to various churches. Thereafter he would enter the USAF as Communication Specialist with highest security clearance, and accepting assignments in Spokame, WA; Japan; South Korea, and at the Pentagon.

Early in his career he would return to Virginia to marry his Bluefield College classmate Cindy Parks. Together they would have a child Kyleen and live in Virginia until her passing in 2005.

Ricky later relocated to Georgia and there he would meet and fall in love with Karen and soon marry her in the presence of their loving church family. Through their time together they were active members of Murrayville Baptist Church and shared a loving relationship until his passing.

At his time of passing Ricky was survived by his wife Karen; mother, Joyce; brother Dr. Mark Oldham (Susan); brother Todd Oldham (Amy); daughter, Kyleen Elizabeth Oldham; numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 30, 2024 at 2pm at Murrayville Baptist Church in Murrayville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the funeral service beginning at 12pm. Interment and Military Honors to follow graveside at the church cemetery.
