Wayne Pilgrim

Wayne Pilgrim, age 83, of Sautee, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Wayne was born on January 29, 1941, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Robert and Mary John Heffner Pilgrim.  He was a retired mailman from Cleveland Post Office and a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church.  Wayne was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and beloved coach of Wayne’s World bowling team.

Survivors include his wife, Bette Lou; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Gail Pilgrim, and John and Valorie; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Shane; sister, Lucille; brothers and sisters-in-law, Merv and Kathy, and Barron and Beth; grandchildren, Daniel, Katie, Laura, and Greta; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Mia, Theo, and Whitney.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church.  The Rev. Ross Roberts and the Rev. Doug Merck will officiate.  Interment will follow in Mt. Yonah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday, at the church, prior to the funeral service.
