JoAnn D. Echols, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of the family, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in Gainesville, Georgia. She was born on March 27, 1956, in Royston, Georgia, to the late Ivery Gordon Sorrow and Robbie Brown Sorrow.
Throughout her life, JoAnn dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her nurturing spirit and devotion to her loved ones were evident in all that she did. JoAnn was not only a devoted wife to her husband, James Richard Echols, but also a proud mother to her two daughters, Emily Ann Echols and Bobbie Jo (Brandon) Goulden. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Chase, Madison, and Emma Goulden, who brought immense joy to her life.
JoAnn is also survived by her sister, Kathy Dudley, who shared a special bond with her throughout the years. Her family will forever treasure the memories they created together, filled with laughter, love, and support.
A visitation will be held in JoAnn's honor on August 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. A funeral service will take place the following day, August 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM, also at Ivie Funeral Home, concluding with a time to reflect on JoAnn's life and the impact she had on those who knew and loved her at Sunrise Cemetery.
As her family and friends gather to celebrate her life, they will hold dear the values she imparted and the love she shared with everyone she encountered. JoAnn D Echols will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
