Mr. Jacob Henry Wisenall, Jr., age 85 of Hoschton, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Hoschton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7 at 11 AM at Christ Lutheran Church 3612 Old Oakwood Rd, Oakwood, GA with Pastor Andy Seibert officiating. A private burial will be held prior.
Mr. Wisenall was born September 28, 1938, to the late Jacob H. Sr. & Agnes Rosetta Hopwood Wisenall in York, Pennsylvania. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine service for 7 years. He is especially proud of his service on the USS Requin and USS Ethan Allen. He attended many of the USS Ethan Allen reunions in recent years. He was a graduate of Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut.
While living in Coventry, Connecticut he proudly served on the board of education. He was a retired engineer with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. While living in Columbus, Georgia he was an active member of the Lion’s Club, delivered Meals on Wheels, and enjoyed golfing. He was also an avid cyclist and participated in several Bike Ride Across Georgia cycling events. Mr. Wisenall was a lifelong active member of the Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ritva Laurila Wisenall, son Bryan (Jeanette), daughter Kristen (J. Matthew), and grandchildren Jacob, Brandon, Joshua, Madeline, and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his brother David Gierzadowicz, and sister Virginia Oller.
