Marjorie Maddox Gravitt Sudderth

Marjorie Maddox Gravitt Sudderth, age 73 of Buford, GA passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Lighthouse Baptist Church – Sugar Hill at 2:00 PM. Pastor Eddie Cane, Jr. and Pastor Kenneth Pruitt will officiate. A private interment will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Sudderth; parents, Ernest and Lula Bell Maddox; daughter, Donna Gravitt; grandson, Jesse Burnette; sisters, Reba Maddox, Louise McDaniel, Flossie Cofer; brothers, Ezra, Emory, Chester, EA, John Henry, Gene, Anderson, James “JE”, Thurmond, and Carl Maddox. She is survived by her children, Terry Gravitt and wife Tracy of Commerce, GA, Donald Gravitt and wife Jaime of Bedford, VA, Duane Sudderth and wife Jennifer of Buford, GA, Tannye Burnette and husband David of Buford, GA; several special grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Stephens and husband Doug, Louena Titshaw.

Marjorie was born in Buford, GA and was a lifelong resident. She retired as plant manager at Gwinnett Schiffli Embroidery and retired from North Gwinnett High School Cafeteria after 10 years of service. She shared her talent of music with her church and community by playing piano and singing. Marjorie was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be missed greatly.
