Obie Gerald Roberts

Obie Gerald Roberts, age 72 of Toccoa passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2024 at Friendship Health and Rehab in Cleveland, Georgia.

A son of Harrison Obie Roberts and Montell Smith Roberts, he was born on August 15, 1952 in Stephens County, Georgia.   He graduated from Stephens County High School in 1970 and received an electronics degree from North Georgia Tech.  He worked for many years at Gilbert and Bennett as a machine operator.  His health necessitated his retirement; however, he was able to enjoy working for Tabor Motor Company going all over the United States picking up vehicles and bringing them back to Toccoa.  Gerald was gifted with a Maine Coon cat named Bree and this brought much joy to his days after he became homebound.   Gerald had a wonderful ability to make everyone feel special.  He cared about his friends, his family, and even his Facebook family.  Gerald loved Jesus Christ and he would tell anyone who would listen. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Glenda Joyce Roberts.  Gerald is survived by many cousins that love him dearly. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, 11:00 a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Brett Sanders and Reverend Bert Watts officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Stan Roberts, Ronnie Roberts, David Small, Jamie Roberts, Stanley Roberts and Randy Collins. 

The family will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00am prior to the funeral.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Obie Gerald Roberts
