Kathryn Louise Truelove Lester December 3, 1937- August 20, 2024

Kathryn Louise Truelove Lester, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away, Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, at the age of 86.

Louise is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jack Lester, and children Kathy, Donna, and Patman (Susan). She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeremy (Sabrina) McNeal, TJ (Cecilia) Williams, Katie (Aaron) Pek, Nathaniel Lester, and great-grandchildren Connor, Matthew, Noah, Turner, and Miles. In addition, Louise is survived by her sister Patricia (Harold) Harbin, brothers Randall (Carolyn) Truelove, and Kim (Teresa) Truelove, and sister-in-law Peggy Truelove.

Louise was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Lester, mother and father Loy and Grace Truelove, brother Charles Truelove, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Donald and Betty Lester. 

Louise was born on the third of December 1937 in Gainesville, Georgia. She graduated from Oakwood High School in 1956 and lived with her husband Jack and their children in Oakwood where she was an active member in their church, Poplar Springs Baptist of Gainesville. Louise led Girls in Action, Acteens, and Sunday School at Poplar Springs. She was a longtime director of the Golden Age and Woman’s Missionary Union in addition to the many other positions she served. She had a special love for missions so people would know Jesus.

The visitation for Louise will be Friday, August 23 at Little & Davenport Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Gainesville, on Saturday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m.  Rev. Matthew Vandegriff and Rev. Jason Lester will officiate. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
