Steven Gordon Perry, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2024 at the age of 71.
Born and raised in Commerce, GA, he grew up alongside his big brother Greg, both playing for the Commerce High football team.
In 1973, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Marsha (nee’ Sanders). Upon completing his Bachelor of Pharmacy at University of Georgia, Steve relocated to Gray, GA. Steve and Marsha returned to Commerce in 1985. Together, they raised their beloved sons Matt and Adam. Steve worked as a pharmacist for 30 years at CVS Caremark, receiving the Paragon Award for his exceptional customer care. Upon his retirement, he and Marsha enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains together.
The product of Commerce City Schools, Steve would go on to serve as Commerce City School Board Member for 12 years, nine of those years as Chairman of the Board. He was dedicated to ensuring that future generations of Commerce children would flourish under the local education system. He was also elected to the Commerce City Council and appointed to serve on the planning commission. Anyone who knew Steve, knew he truly lived for his community and his family.
He is survived by his wife Marsha; sons Matt (Erin) Perry and Adam (Jenny) Perry; grandsons Logan, Dylan, Luke, and George; brother Greg (Becky) Perry; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother and father, L.G. and Sarah Perry.
