Robert E. Zilske

Mr. Robert E. Zilske, age 76 of Braselton, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Zilske was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite (Damberg) Zilske and father, Albert Charles Zilske.  He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Meg) Zilske; daughter, Christina Harrelson (Keith) and grandchildren, Alison Harrelson and Katherine Harrelson.  Survivors also include his siblings, Albert Zilske, Peggy Ann Zilske, Jill Zilske, Jack Zilske (Jody) and Raymond Zilske; as well as several nieces and nephews.

After completing his second year of college while the Vietnam War was going on, Mr. Zilske felt an obligation to his country and enlisted in the Army.  He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and served two years in service which included one year of service in Vietnam.

Mr. Zilske graduated from the University of Tennessee followed by his career in industrial sales at various companies throughout the years.  At the age of 56 he suffered a major stroke resulting in disabilities which ended his career and put him in retirement.  However, as always, Mr. Zilske continued to have an optimistic attitude and did some volunteer work at our church.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home on Friday, August 23, 2024.  The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.  Melissa Perry, the Associate Pastor of Celebration Church will officiate.
