Marie Sloan Marr

Marie Sloan Marr, age 83, of Winder, Ga, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Billy Marr; sons, Phil Marr, Ricky Marr; parents, Branson and Colena Wood Sloan.; sisters, Bernice and Rilla; brothers, Jarvis, Ernest Paul, Jim Bob Sloan. Mrs. Marr is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Chris Montgomery of Winder; daughter-in-law, Mao Marr of Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Christy and Andy Wright; great-grandchildren, Liam Wright and Kimber Wright; brother, Terrell (Diane) Sloan of Hoschton, GA; sisters-in-law, Pam Sloan of Hoschton, Louise (John) Gibson of Clarkesville, GA, Faye Page of Athens, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Marr was born in Lawrenceville, GA on July 15, 1941, and was a retired Seamstress from Barrow Mfg. Company in Winder, GA. She was member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Hoschton, GA. Mrs. Marr enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Wright officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Marie Marr.
