Matilda Sanchez

Mrs. Matilda Sanchez 86, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Monday, August 19, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Born on September 24, 1937 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Vincente Sanchez and the late Tomasa Colon. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Hector Luis Santiago; and sons, Bernardo Sanchez and Carlos Luis Santiago.

Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her son, Jorge Luis Santiago (Leslie Velez) of Gainesville; daughter, Judith Barajas of Gainesville; grandsons, Jose Santiago (Lea) of Winder, Hector Luis Santiago (Myra) of Gillsville, Oscar Reyes of Winder; great grandchildren, Thalia Nolasco of Flowery Branch, Hector Luis Santiago, Jr. (Nicole Pacheco) of Hoschton, Alyssa Santiago of Gainesville, Reyna Santiago of FL, Brandi Lopez of Gainesville, Valentina Bravo of Winder, Nathan Bravo of Winder and a number of other loving relatives.
