Willie Loy Saine

Mr. Willie Loy Saine, age 85 of Dahlonega passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Mr. Saine was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County.  He was born on October 5, 1938, to the late Sam and Ollie Saine.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Bonnie Lou and Pat Wimpy; brother Guy Saine; sister-in-law Margie Saine; and nephew Greg Saine. 

Mr. Saine was a proud Lumpkin County Nugget, having graduated from Lumpkin County High School, He then went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.  His career there led him to many experiences as an Aviation Machine Mate.  After his honorable service, he began a career with the telephone company that spanned more than four decades.  

In his most recent days, he received his favorite title as “Pop”, one that his beloved grandchildren gave him.  Mr. Saine loved his family very much.  He loved to pull a joke and make you laugh. Mr. Saine was a kind-hearted man, he lived with a great love and passion for the Lord Jesus Christ. He served his church, Siloam Baptist Church as a deacon, and faithful member until his passing. 

Survivors include his beloved wife, of sixty-one years, Louise Saine, Dahlonega; sons and daughters-in-law Joel and Lynn Saine, Dahlonega; Jeff and Ronda Saine Dawsonville; Grandchildren Kelly Husk (Zach), Josh Saine, Anna Saine; brother Roy Saine, Dahlonega; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Siloam Baptist Church.  The Rev. Tony Allison and the Rev. Casey Robinson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors and the Rev. Junior Abernathy officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
