Cam Richard Greene

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Cam Richard Greene, age 74, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Thursday August 8, 2024. Mr. Greene was born in Pineville, Kentucky the son of the late Malcolm Campbell Greene and the late Margaret Sue Blanton Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Christensen.

Cam retired as a microbiologist with the USDA. He attended Hope Crossing in Jefferson, GA and loved to deer hunt and fish. He was a true patriot, in every sense of the word, and served as an Airborne Army Ranger, in his younger years. 

To know Cam was to know true both humor and hard work. His work ethic and steadfastness to his family was only outdone by his ability to tell the perfect joke! He was all of these things and so much more. He was the absolute best husband and father anyone could ask for. God blessed him with a full life and he will be remembered often and loved dearly, until we meet again in Heaven.

Survivors include his wife of forty three years, Carol Lynn Greene of Jefferson, GA. Two daughters, Rachel Greene Jackson (Tony) of Flowery Branch, GA and Tiffani Greene McConnell (Jefferson) of Gulf Breeze, FL. Son, Ian David Malcolm Greene of Jefferson, GA. Six grandchildren, Jeremiah Greene, Amelia Eva Jackson, Olivia Lynne Jackson, Quinn McConnell, Cam McConnell and Tegan McConnell.

Celebration of Life services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday August 14, 2024 in the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
